The agreement that governs your stay with Son's Getaways

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing sonsgetaways.com, booking a reservation, or staying at any Son's Getaways property, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Bookings & Reservations
Reservations are made through our booking partner, Checkfront. A reservation is confirmed only after you receive a written confirmation email. You are responsible for ensuring all guest information is accurate at the time of booking. The primary guest must be at least 21 years of age.
3. Payments, Deposits & Cancellations
Full payment or a non-refundable deposit may be required at the time of booking, depending on the property and rate selected. Our cancellation windows, refund eligibility, and rescheduling rules are outlined on our FAQs page. Severe weather and river conditions are addressed there as well. Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us at info@sonsgetaways.com may result in collection action.
4. Property Rules & Guest Conduct
- Quiet hours are observed at every property; specifics are posted on-site.
- Maximum occupancy limits are strictly enforced for safety and insurance reasons.
- Pets are welcome only at designated properties and only with prior approval.
- Smoking is prohibited inside all cabins, lodges, and structures.
- Damage, excessive cleaning, or violation of posted rules may result in additional charges to the credit card on file.
5. Assumption of Risk β River & Outdoor Activities
Our properties offer access to natural waterways, swimming areas, tubing, kayaking, hiking, fire pits, and other outdoor activities. These carry inherent risks including drowning, slips and falls, sun exposure, wildlife encounters, and changing weather. By staying with us, you and every member of your party voluntarily assume these risks. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Life jackets are recommended for all river activities.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Texas law, Son's Island Getaways and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your stay, the use of any amenity, or your use of this website. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the booking giving rise to the claim.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this site β including photography, video, copy, logos, and the Son's Getaways name β is owned by Son's Island Getaways or its licensors and is protected by U.S. copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce or repurpose our content without written permission.
8. Third-Party Services
We use third-party services for bookings (Checkfront), email (Resend), maps (Google), and analytics. Your interactions with these services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
9. Severe Weather, River & Flood Conditions
The San Marcos and Guadalupe Rivers are dynamic waterways. After heavy rain in the Hill Country, flows can rise quickly and tubing or kayaking may become unsafe. When that happens, our on-site team may pause shuttle service, restrict river entry, or close access to a section of riverbank for the day. These decisions are made strictly for guest safety and are not a basis for chargebacks.
If river conditions force us to cancel a day-pass or shuttle service entirely, we will offer a same-day reschedule, a future-date credit, or a refund of the affected portion of your booking. Cabin and overnight stays remain bookable during high-flow periods because the property itself is unaffected. Lightning, severe thunderstorm warnings, and flash-flood watches are handled the same way: safety first, with a fair accommodation offered as soon as conditions are clear. 10. Group Bookings & Event Conduct
Larger group bookings (typically eight or more guests on a single reservation, or full-property buyouts) are subject to additional terms communicated in writing at the time of booking. These may include a refundable damage deposit, a designated responsible party who is on-site for the entire stay, and specific quiet hours.
We are a family-friendly operation. Amplified music must remain at conversational volume after posted quiet hours, glass containers are restricted in river and pool areas for safety, and our team reserves the right to ask any guest whose conduct affects other families to leave the property. Where this happens, no refund is issued for the unused portion of the stay. Wedding, corporate, and reunion inquiries should be sent to info@sonsgetaways.com so we can match you with the right property and provide a written event addendum.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our website or properties after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Guadalupe County, Texas.
