We Built This Because We Couldn't Find It

Son's Getaways started with a frustration every Texas parent knows: you want to take your kids to the river, but everywhere is either overrun with party crowds, disgustingly dirty, or priced like a luxury resort.

We're parents. We've been to the "family-friendly" places that weren't. We've driven hours only to find filthy bathrooms and drunk twenty-somethings. We've paid premium prices for mediocre experiences. We've come home more exhausted than when we left.

So we decided to build the places we wished existed.

Today, Son's Getaways operates six properties across the Texas Hill Country — each one designed from the ground up for families. Not "family-friendly" as a marketing term. Family-ONLY as an operating principle.

Every policy we have, every rule we enforce, every detail we obsess over comes from one question: "Would I bring my own kids here?" If the answer isn't an enthusiastic yes, we fix it until it is.

We're not the fanciest. We're not the cheapest. But we might be the only ones who truly get what you're looking for: a place where you can finally, actually relax while your kids have the summer of their lives.
