How to choose between our six properties
Families with young kids usually land at Son's Blue River Camp or Son's Geronimo. Blue River Camp is small enough that you can see your kids from the picnic table while they wade. Geronimo adds resort-style pools and a game room for when the river isn't the right mood.
Large group reunions belong at Son's River Ranch or Son's Rio Cibolo. River Ranch gives you 150 acres and a half-mile of San Marcos frontage β room to spread out without losing each other. Rio Cibolo's 100 acres and two miles of spring-fed creek let big families pick their own swimming hole.
Couples and quiet getaways tend to pick Son's Guadalupe for private river access without the public-park crowds, or a creekside cabin at Geronimo or Rio Cibolo for early mornings with coffee and birdsong instead of a parking-lot soundtrack.
About the rivers and creeks we sit on
San Marcos River β Both Son's Blue River Camp and Son's River Ranch sit on the San Marcos in Kingsbury, downstream of the spring-fed headwaters in San Marcos. It's a steady, family-friendly float most of the season with cypress shade and clear, cool water.
Guadalupe River β Son's Guadalupe offers private access to the famous Guadalupe near New Braunfels. Flow can vary with releases from Canyon Dam, which makes mornings the most predictable time to put in.
Cibolo Creek β At Son's Rio Cibolo in Marion, the Cibolo is spring-fed and reliably wet even in dry summers. Two miles of frontage means you can find a pool entirely to yourself.
Geronimo Creek β A spring-fed tributary running through Son's Geronimo. Calm, shaded, and ideal for kayaking and paddleboarding with kids.
Lake McQueeney β The flatwater lake that surrounds Son's Island in Seguin. Perfect for paddling, swimming, and the kind of slow afternoons the lake is known for.
